BIOGRAPHY
The Business Minder in Asia, Gary has over 30 years experience in business management in Australia and the UK. He has won international awards for his work in management. In the past few years he had a realisation: that living in a city, over time, gradually wore him down. He suspects that this is the case for a lot of people but they put up with it because of the incredible benefits of being located in a metropolis. Gary identified the potential to offer his business management expertise in Asia. So he decided to set up home between Bali Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore.
The theme of “access” is one that constantly comes up among his entrepreneurial friends in Bali. Bali and Singapore are both magnets for influential people. "You can meet people here you’d never have the chance to meet elsewhere". Gary set up Mind Ur Bisnis to answer the growing need for expat assistance in small to medium business in Bali. This in turn led to more consulting opportunities in other places including Vietnam and the Philippines. "In Bali, I have access to a broad range of interesting expats, local business people and artists, touring Indonesians from elsewhere in the country. In Singapore I can access media marketing outlets and regional headquarters as well as a plethora of expats in business. Gary has consulted to a wide range of businesses around Asia and he will be very pleased to step in and support you.
Like all consultants, Gary parachutes in and reconfigures a business, bringing to bear his skills and decades of experience. It would be hard to argue that the changes he introduces are, on paper, anything but a major improvement. On paper. In practice, there is the strange, hard to quantify variable known as people. Gary is mindful of the importance of people, both the staff and the customer. People are paramount and are considered carefully in any improvement plan. A lot of clients have their own definition of “major improvement,” that in some instances, would confound anyone who has ever studied theory in a business management school. Both Singapore and Bali's central location to most cities in Asia and to Australia, with hundreds of flights available at short notice, makes it the perfect place for me to live. When I am not on assignments I will be in Bali. I feel like the amount of places, people, services, help and activities I can access within 15 minutes of my front door is unmatched, anywhere."
